$2600 Raised for Wilton Community Assistance Fund- Wilton Photographer

Wow! The Wilton Chamber of Commerce and Moments by Andrea Photography would like to thank the community of Wilton for coming out to support the Wilton Community Assistance Fund and Wilton Social Services. Thanks to 31 businesses donating items to be given away and the 80 families that made monetary donations, we raised $2600 to help Wilton families struggling to pay their bills this year!!  The money was delivered to the Wilton Chamber to give to the Wilton Social Services last week.

Families who participated in the FREE HALLOWEEN PORTRAITS you can find your images via this link. A Password has been emailed to you. If you did not receive it you can contact the volunteer in charge of organizing the photos, amandanmitchell@gmail.com.

Thank you to Amanda Mitchell, a Wilton resident (and my client and friend) for volunteering to edit and upload all of the images! I could never do this fundraiser during my busy season without someone volunteering to finish the job after the shoot.

Here are a few tips to remember:

Each family has a different number of images depending on poses, # of people in the group, etc.

The photos are arranged in the order they were taken (unless you got out of line) and divided into 5 albums so that you don’t have to scroll through 72 families. Consider where in line you had your picture taken (beginning, middle, end). If you have trouble locating your photo, simply email Amanda Mitchell at amandanmitchell@gmail.com and she can tell you what album you are in.
Follow these instructions to see your photos:

* Click the Shutterfly link at the bottom of this email.
* Click on one of the 5 albums (Halloween 1-15, Halloween 16-30) to locate your photo.
* Scroll through to the album to locate your series of photos.
* Once you click on a photo, you can download it, print it, or share it.
* Downloaded images are sized for 5 x 7 and smaller prints and internet use but you can order larger prints from Shutterfly directly no problem.
* If you have any questions, contact Amanda at amandanmitchell@gmail.com

Fall is in the air and so is the smell of fear! It’s Family Portrait Time!

moms top fearsTIPS & HELP from a TRAINED & EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONAL FAMILY PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER

As a mom I too suffer from all of these fears so I’m very familiar with them! If I were not a family portrait photographer, I might feel as if I were alone! I’m here to tell you all.. You are NOT alone!

I have photographed over 1600 families since 2006 and seen all of these way to many times! I would say that each mom experiences at  least five of these fears (if not all) each year!

We have such high expectations for our annual holiday card. After all, everyone’s cards are so amazing! There is so much pressure to get the perfect pictures and make the best cards!

What if…what if..what if… So many what ifs go through our minds when planning our portrait sessions. For some of us it paralyzes us with fear and we never book that session (or we do but we cancel it). Sad to admit I canceled mine last month because of fear #1 (read more about that in my blog here) and I regret it every day!

Here is my advice (if you still want to take it knowing that I’m more scared than you). :

For help with #1 be sure to hire a professional that knows how to make you look at least ten pounds thinner and then remember your kids think you are perfect just the way you are and tomorrow is promised to nobody so just get in the pics!

For help with #2- Cross your fingers, pray, do a no rain dance! Hope to get lucky! Book early in the season so it gives you room to reschedule if it rains. Alternatively you could book last minute when you know the weather will be nice!

For help with #3- Read these TIPS on my blog.

http://www.blog.momentsbyandrea.com/how-to-plan-for-your-family-portrait-what-to-wear-holiday-portrait-tips-from-a-mom-photographer/

For help with #4- Read these TIPS on blog and pray! Most importantly manage your expectations! Kids will be kids! Gotta love them!

http://www.blog.momentsbyandrea.com/preparing-for-your-session/

For help with #5- Offer a reward! Wink Wink! Rewards sometimes work with the kids! It might work with the hubby too! JK

For help with #6- Put bibs on the kids in the car or change them right when you get to the session!

For help with #7- See #2

For help with #8- Also see #2.

For help with #9- You are probably right! Just kidding! All kids are a little crazy and if anyone knows that it’s your photographer! No worries!

For help with#10- Hire a trained and experienced photographer preferably that you get through referral! Also remember that you often get what you pay for so don’t be cheap if your family portraits are important to you!
